China to Postpone Ruling on Anti-dumping Case

The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation (MOFTEC) announced in Beijing Friday that it needs another six months to complete the anti-dumping investigation on imported acrylate from Japan, Germany and the US.

The ministry announced in December last year that it began an anti-dumping investigation into the imported acrylate from these three countries.

According to relevant rules and regulations, an anti-dumping investigation in China normally takes 12 months. But for some specific reasons, investigations may be extended to 18 months.

Sources from MOFTEC said that as the case involves many companies and a heavy workload, the ministry will come up with a final ruling by June 9, 2001.

Acrylate is a raw material used to make plastic models and optical parts, jewelry, adhesives, paint and textile fibers.
