Chinese Scientists Plan to Clone Human Organs

Pei Xuetao, a Chinese scientist on stem cell studies, said his research team had successfully cloned human tissue from stem cells and would proceed to clone human organs. However, he stressed that it had nothing to do with he clone of human being.

Not long ago, the fetal clone approved by the British government had made a great disturbance in the academic world.

Pei, president of the Institute on Blood Transfusion Medicine under the Military Medical College, added that Chinese scientists conform to the international policies on the ban on cloning human being. Whereas, the study of human organ clones has been encouraged internationally.

So far, human bone, blood, nerve and skin have all got cloned at this college, and the next objective is blood vessel, esophagus and urinary bladder. If everything goes smoothly, the cloned organs will be used to replace injured human organs.
