Nokia Joins Hands with Chinese Firm to Tap China's Broadband Market

Nokia, a leading supplier of mobile phones and Internet phone telecom networks internationally, teamed up with China.com Corp yesterday to tap China's broadband network market.

The two parties announced that the collaboration for Nokia is to provide better broadband services to China's Internet users.

According to the strategic alliance, Nokia will mainly focus on broadband network integration. China.com will act as Internet Content Provider (ICP), offering contents such as videos, games, community services, electronic books and on-line shopping, to net surfers.

China.com's application server will be connected with Nokia's Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) system in order to provide high-speed quality broadband services.

Experts have regarded broadband services as a possible solution to eradicate the bottleneck in the development of China's internet-related businesses.

As a world telecom giant, Nokia has invested more than US$1 billion in the Chinese market.

China.com Corp, a leading Chinese Internet company listed in New York, enjoys the best on-line commercial model in Asia-Pacific region.
