Electron Equipment Center to Be Established in Shanghai

APW, a US-based electron communication equipment manufacturer and provider, announced here this week that it will build its Shanghai company into Asia's manufacture base and research development center of system integration equipment.

By purchasing a Singapore company in Shanghai last year, APW established its first manufacturing enterprise in China - APW Shanghai Ltd., with products like power supply appliances, system integration equipment and other standard equipment for electronic communication.

An APW official said that the company is confident in its Asian market, and has established six production bases in Shanghai, Hong Kong, India, Singapore, and Japan. The company has invested over US$10 million recently in Shanghai to build a modern factory, covering 15,000 square meters of land, which will be completed and put into operation this September.

The company has already introduced advanced printing equipment, in a bid to increase its production capacity in Shanghai.
