Int'l Consumer Goods Fair Promoted in Shanghai

A promotional reception was recently held in Shanghai as the 5th China International Consumer Goods Fair (CICGF), scheduled to be held from June 8 to 12 in Ningbo City, east China's Zhejiang Province, is drawing near.

The fair is jointly sponsored by Chinese Ministry of Commerce and Zhejiang Provincial Government. 

Over 20 representatives were present at the reception, including commercial officials from foreign consulate-generals, business representatives from China-European Chamber of Commerce and other foreign business offices.

Wang Renzhou, vice secretary-general of CICGF, said that this year's fair will seek more international cooperation, bring to full play of its features as an internationalized, professional, market-oriented and standardized exhibition.

According to him, the organizer will put up 3000 standard booths and attract 1500 exhibitors from China and abroad.

Five exhibition sections will be set up with the exhibit categories, including: home textile and garments, electronics and home appliance, light industrial products, arts and crafts, foodstuff. The overseas exhibit section is specially arranged for the exhibiting foreign companies and international purchasing groups.

As a window for "Made-in-China" products to enter the world market, the fair has become an important platform for Chinese brands to go global, Wang said.

On the other hand, thousands of foreign buyers from nearly a hundred countries and regions have confirmed their attendance, a big increase compared with the last session.
