Hong Kong Marine Police have seized 2 million smuggled video compact discs (VCDs) on a vessel, Marine Police said Wednesday.

On Tuesday night, small boat division officers spotted an unlitcargo vessel heading north off East Ping Chau, Hong Kong. They stopped it and escorted it back to East Ping Chau pier for questioning.

About 2 million VCDs in 1,363 boxes with a total market value of about 35 million Hong Kong dollars (US$4.52 million) were found on the vessel.

Marine Police arrested two men on board the vessel, aged 55 and 51, as they could not produce a manifest for the cargo.
