In the wee hours of yesterday morning, local police captured a man who allegedly killed six of his family members in northeast China's Jilin Province.
Police say Dong Gang, the third son of the family, murdered his father Dong Changqing, a 63-year-old villager in Helong Town of Nong'an County, together with his wife, eldest son, eldest daughter, youngest daughter and granddaughter on Saturday after he was scolded for being drunk.
Dong Gang is accused of hacking his father to death with an ax after drinking alcohol in the morning and being criticized by his father. He then killed the other five family members and fled.
He was caught by the police at 2:00 AM on Sunday when he tried to return home, where police say he was going to commit suicide.
Dong Gang, 29, graduated from middle school 10 years ago and has long been criticized and snubbed by his parents and relatives, say police.
