A young man has been captured for allegedly murdering six people, including two kids aged three and five, in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, local police said.

Xu Li'an, born on Feb. 13, 1988, from the Yutang Village of Pingle County, was suspected of committing the homicide at about 8 PM on Tuesday in a four-story apartment owned by a man surnamed Li in the Fengming Village of Yangshuo County, police said.

Xu fled after the killings.

He was captured in the Puyi Township of Yangshuo at about 4 PM on Thursday, said Liu Zhenghao, deputy director of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Regional Department of Public Security, at a news conference held in Yangshuo Thursday night.

The victims included Li, his mother, his wife, his underage nephew and niece, and one of his two employees.

Only Li's son and the other employee managed to avoid being killed, but the son was wounded seriously. Li's daughter also escaped the killing because she went to work Tuesday night.

An anonymous friend of Li had told Yangshuo police that Xu had pursued Li's daughter but met strong objections from Li and his wife, and "Xu probably has a grudge against Li and his wife just because of this."

But local police did not provide details about how the suspect was seized, nor did they identify the weapon Xu used to commit the crime.

Police had offered a reward of 100,000 yuan (US$12,500) for a clue that can help police catch the suspect.
