HK to Swap Securities Market Data With Shanghai, Shenzhen

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) announced in Hong Kong Thursday that it signed an agreement with the Shanghai Stock Exchange and the Shenzhen Stock Exchange for the mutual exchange and web publication of securities market and listed company data.

The agreement was signed in accordance with the increasing information demand for China securities markets, as a result of increased investor interest, according to HKEx.

The objective is to provide investors with direct and convenient access to data from the three securities markets and to promote cooperation and information exchanges between the three bourses.

HKEx hoped the agreement will form a basis for future market information cooperation among the three exchanges.

Discussion on the technical issues involving data exchange between the three signatories is under way, according to HKEx. It expects information for China securities markets to be available on its web site later this year.
