FM: Taipei of China Officially Invited to APEC Summit

Taipei of China has been officially invited to attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders Meeting, said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Sun Yuxi Tuesday.

Taipei of China has decided to send Chen Bozhi and Lin Xinyi to the summit, said Sun at a regular press conference.

Sun said, the APEC Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) has made definite stipulations for the candidates from China's Taipei who will attend the APEC Economic Leaders Meeting, and these stipulations have become usual practices of and have been observed by APEC members.

The Chinese government will not oppose any candidates put forward by China's Taipei, provided they conform with the MOU and its stipulations, he said.
