One Killed, 10 Missing After Boats Sink in East China Sea

Rescuers are still searching for 10 missing fishermen after two boats sank last Saturday in the East China Sea near the port city Ningbo in Zhejiang Province.

Sources say that one person was killed and four people have been rescued.

Early on January 12, several fishing boats belonging to the city's marine production bureau were operating 150 sea miles offshore when one of the vessels sank suddenly leaving seven people missing.

On the afternoon of the same day, another fishing boat operating around an island also sank, throwing eight people into the sea. One was killed, four others were rescued and three are still missing.

The causes for the accidents are still under investigation.
