Five Die in Ship Collision

Five people died when a ferry sank after colliding into a large cargo vessel under heavy fog Wednesday morning in the Jiujiang section of the Yangtze River.

The ferry, which was later found to be operating without license, carried about 16 passengers when it hit the cargo vessel at around 8 a.m., according to a survivor.

By press time, only four people have survived, five bodies found, and the others are still missing.

Rescue work is underway in Jiujiang in east China's Jiangxi Province.
