The Ministry of Public Security is offering 100,000 yuan (US$13,228) to anyone with information that leads to the detention of a couple who allegedly forced several primary and high school students into prostitution in Guizhou Province, Xinhua news agency reported yesterday.

Chi Yao and his wife Zhao Qingmei were said to have forced girls from primary schools and middle schools to be prostitutes in Liupanshui City and Bijie area since March 2006, the report said.

Those who offer useful clues or help police seize one or both suspects can receive 50,000 yuan each, the report said.

Chi, 25, is 165-centimeters tall and Zhao, 28, is 155cm tall.

A similar case was reported earlier this month in Guizhou. Two teachers allegedly forced at least 18 students aged between 13 and 17 into prostitution in Liupanshui and nearby areas.

Several victims in that case lost the ability to bear children, Beijing News said.

Police detained eight suspects over the case but another four suspects were at large, the report said.

The reports did not make it clear if the cases were related.
