Wang Haizhen: A Pearl Among Models

For Wang Haizhen from Hebei Province the road to becoming a super model has not been easy, but at the 1999 China New Silk Road Super Women Modeling Contest, she finally had her day. She stood out among the thousands of contestants and snatched the crown. Later, at the 1999 World Super Model Contest in Paris, she became the only model from Asia to enter the top ten, and she won the title of World Super Model.

Wang is now a star and has a contract to model for the France Metropolitan Agency. The head of the agency praises her. "Wang Haizhen is the model of vogue in the new century," she says. Zhang Zhaoda, a well-known fashion designer in China, also speaks highly of Wang, saying she is excellent and competitive in modeling.

Haizhen means "pearls in the sea," and the name is apt for this charming model. Wang has now become the most popular model in China, and many trendsetters and photographers like to work with her. She is the shining star at many fashion shows, and her picture appears on the covers of many magazines. She has modeled at fashion shows of many world-famous brands, including CD, Accord, Jean-Paul Gaultier, AgnesB, Leonard, and Torrent.

Wang is now studying interior design in her spare time and dreams of becoming a professional designer. Her family supports every choice she has made and enjoys her success. But Wang never loses her calm in spite of so much success. She does not wear fancy clothes in daily life, so people can hardly recognize her as a super model shining on the T-shaped stage.
