Art Exhibition Commemorates China's Late Premier Zhou

An art exhibition to commemorate the 104th anniversary of the birth of former Chinese Premier Zhou Enlai (1898-1976) opened Tuesday at the Zhou Enlai-Deng Yingchao Museum in Tianjin.

Sixty items of calligraphy, epigraphy, traditional Chinese painting, oil painting, sculpture and other forms of art selected from the museum collection on Zhou Enlai and his wife Deng Yingchao are on public view.

Zhou Enlai was born on March 5, 1898, in Huai'an, Jiangsu Province. He studied at Nankai University in Tianjin and later in Paris, where he joined the Chinese Socialist Youth League. Zhou was the first premier of People's Republic of China and held the post for 26 years till his death on January 8, 1976.

A book named "Zhou Enlai's Self-Narration" was also launched in the museum Tuesday. The book for the first time released many narrative stories by Zhou himself, revealing the late premier's innermost feelings and revolutionary history.
