"Ode To Deng Xiaoping" Starts Shooting

To memorize the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and the centenary birthday of Deng Xiaoping, the TV music and dance epic, "Ode To Deng Xiaoping" after a long preparation by the publicity department of Guiyang Party Committee, Pearl River Film Studio and Hunan Leiyang Hot Spring Villa as well as China Radio & TV Institute, is now being shot and teamed up.

The shooting of the epic has been authorized by the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, and it is to be presented by the Pearl River Film Studio to the 80th birthday of the Communist Party of China.

The epic was adapted and created from the long prose poem, "Song of Deng Xiaoping" composed by Wang Weihua, a famous author of Guiyang. With the 80 years course of struggle of the Communist Party of China as a background, the epic describes emphatically the outstanding contributions and lofty personality of Deng Xiaoping, who, as a core of the second generation in the leading body of the CPC and a chief designer of the policy of reform and opening-up, has led the Chinese people onto the road for civilization and affluence. The epic is composed of the prolusion, four chapters and epilogue.
