China to Hold Cultural Art Fair

A two-day national fair exhibiting fine cultural artwork will be held in this capital city of central China's Henan Province beginning April 14.

The fair will exhibit jade, porcelain, paintings and calligraphy from different times in ancient China, which belong to some 40 state-owned cultural relic shops across the country. More than 300 businessmen from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and Singapore have applied to participate.

Visitors to the fair will also be able to admire many selected artworks stored in key Chinese museums, featuring characteristics of Chinese minorities in Tibet and Xinjiang Uygur autonomous regions, and Yunnan and Qinghai provinces.

The fair is jointly sponsored by the Henan Provincial Administration of Cultural Heritage and the Henan Cultural Relic Exchange Center.
