China Win Women's Volleyball Grand Prix Harbin Tournament

The Chinese volleyball team completed their perfect record in the world women's volleyball Grand Prix Harbin tournament after beating Brazil 3-1 on August 12.

The set scores were 25-21, 25-18, 23-25 and 25-15.

It was the third straight victory for the young Chinese team. Earlier in the tournament, they beat Japan 3-1 and downed Germany 3-0.

Earlier on Sunday, Japan stopped a two-match losing streak by beating Germany 3-1 to finish third in the four-team tournament. Germany finished four with a 0-3 record.

The match between the Chinese team and their Brazilian counterparts was the final of the tournament as both teams remained unbeaten before the encounter.

The Chinese team, encouraged by a full-capacity of home fans, began the match with plenty of confidence. Their blocking and attacking proved too much to the Brazilian team, which also aimed at winning the tournament.

The Chinese team kept the match to their rhythm, taking the first two sets 25-21 and 25-18. But they lost the third 23-25 due to lapse of concentration.

They then were again dominated the fourth one, winning 25-15 in style.

The victory was much more easier for the Chinese team than the previous encounter between the two teams one week ago in Hong Kong which China won 3-2.
