Pollution Check

Pollution monitoring systems have been installed in more than 30 enterprises in Chongqing Municipality, where the amount of illegal discharge of industrial wastes has alarmed the local government, Xinhua News Agency said.

The move is aimed at cracking down on unlawful activities such as discharging pollutants secretly and randomly stopping operation of waste-disposal facilities.

The online monitoring system can record all the operation data of pollutant treatment equipment, providing irrefutable evidence for environmental protection departments.
