Seven cartoon police figures were unveiled yesterday by the Public Security Bureau of Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province, in an effort to increase public awareness of laws and public security knowledge, Xinhua reported.

Seven figures, including two basic police figures, and five others representing patrol police, special police, traffic police, fire police and household registration police respectively, will be used as official figures for Shijiazhuang's police force in public places, media reports, police affairs boards as well as souvenirs, calling cards and post cards.

This is the first such initiative in the province.
