Mainland Colleges Continue to Recruit Students From Macao


A total of 100 institutions of higher learning in China's mainland are projected to recruit more students from the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) in 2002, according to sources from the Macao Foundation.

The foundation has been entrusted by the Ministry of Education in relevant recruiting issues. Macao students should hand in theirapplication by the end of December.

This will be the ninth straight year for the mainland universities and colleges to enroll Macao students. This year, 230students from Macao went to the mainland to pursue master's or doctoral degrees after passing entrance examinations.

Those applying to study master courses should be less than 40 years old, and doctoral degree pursuers should be at or below 45, the Macao Foundation said.
