China's Highest Bronze Tower to Be Erected in Guilin

A 38-meter high bronze tower, the highest of its kind so far in China, will be erected in the famous tourist resort city of Guilin, in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

The nine-story tower will be built on an island in Shanhu Lake in the city's downtown area.

This is the first time tower has been built on an island in a Chinese lake; it is usually found alongside mountains or on the shores of rivers and lakes.

Guilin, one of the most popular tourist destinations in China, is famed for its mountainous landscape and diversified ethnic culture.
