Survey: University of HK Best University in HK


The University of Hong Kong has been named Hong Kong's top tertiary institution in an Internet survey. the Chinese Univeristy and the University of Science and Technology ranked second and third, respectively.

In the third annual rankings by on-line education information group www.education18.com, the University of Hong Kong scored 93. 75 out of a maximum 100.

This is the third consecutive year for the university to win this title.

The Institute of Education was ranked last of the eight tertiary institutions with 19.38 marks, while University of Science and Technology professor Paul Chu Ching-wu was rated the best university head.

The survey applied five criteria -- research performance, public exam results, graduates' performance, contribution of faculties to the community and public ranking of local universities.

The public ranking was based on a poll at the end of February in which 1,029 respondents were interviewed by pollsters from the University of Hong Kong public opinion program.
