Henan, Tibet Join Hands on Cultural Relic Protection

Central China's Henan Province and the Tibet Autonomous Region in southwest China signed contracts Monday to reinforce their efforts to protect Tibetan cultural relics.

According to the agreement, Henan, which has an abundant cultural heritage from ancient China and has a lot of experience in doing archeological work, will assist Tibet in renovating ancient architecture, excavate archeological sites and educate more specialists in the field.

Henan has been involved in cooperation with Tibet on the effort for more than a decade. The latest cultural relic protection program will help to explore the peculiar Tibetan culture, a senior official with the Henan Cultural Relic Bureau said.
