Israeli Foreign Minister’s Book Published in Beijing

The Israeli Embassy in Beijing and the Xinhua Publishing House jointly held a ceremony for the publication of the Chinese Edition of the book New Genesis written by Israel's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Shimon Peres.

Peres, who is on an official visit to China as guest of Chinese Foreign Minister Tang Jiaxuan, attended the ceremony along with representatives from art and literary, educational, press, publishing circles.

New Genesis is Peres' second book translated into Chinese after New Middle East.

Peres wrote the foreword of the book's Chinese Edition.

The book, with about 120,000 Chinese characters, is translated into Chinese by Gao Qiufu, former vice-president of the Xinhua News Agency and director of the Xinhua Center for World Affairs Studies, and Dai Huikun, senior editor of the Xinhua News Agency.

Translators said that Peres, in this book, talks about world affairs and the fate of the mankind from the perspective of the Jewish nation and Israel, and comments on gains and losses of the history and future development trends.
