About 373,000 Female Officials In Beijing

There are 373,000 female officials in Beijing up to now, 45.75 percent of all the officials of the city. The group of female officials has been being constantly developed and strengthened.

According to the statistics released by Beijing Municipal Government, there are 298,000 officials in the Communist Party organizations and the government offices of all levels in Beijing.

Gratifying changes have taken place in the entire structure of the female officials in Beijing in recent years. Some 55.7 percent of the female officials are under 40 years old. About 69.4 percent of them have professional and technical titles. About 67.1 percent of them have junior college diplomas or above.

There are 43 women in the leading groups of the 18 districts and counties of Beijing. There is at least 1 female cadre in every leading group. Sixty-three women have been allocated in the Municipal Communist Party Committee and ministries, commissions and bureaus of the municipal government. The entire quality of the female officials in Beijing has been further increased in recent years through training.

By the end of last year, about 32 percent of the total Communist Party members in Beijing are female. Among all the Communist Party members recruited last year, 41.68 percent are female.
