Relief Work Underway in Quake-hit Province

Yuan Lixiao, a pupil of Wenfeng Primary School, does his homework in farmland in Yongsheng county, southwest China's Yunan Province October 30, 2001. Some 200 school buildings collapsed in quake-stricken areas, which made some 25,000 students out of their school.

Efforts including building tents for school have been made to restore local education as soon as possible. Up till now, one was killed and more than 130 injured during the earthquake which measured 6.0 on the Richter scale.
