Yangzhou Develops Eco-friendly Industries

Northern Jiangsu's Yangzhou has made great achievements in economic and environmental development since the city began strenuous efforts to develop eco-friendly industries.

In recent years, the municipal government of Yangzhou had paid great attention to the improvement of its environment. Sources of pollution along the Huai River and Yangtze River were eradicated, and industrial water waste is now treated before disposal.

In addition, a sewage treatment plant and a treatment plant for consumer waste are now under construction.

Measures are being taken to clean the water of the Slender West Lake and the city's ancient moats. Meanwhile, the city is simultaneously developing eco-friendly industry, agriculture, and tourism. This year, organic grains cover more than 30 thousand hectares.

As a result, more foreign investment has been attracted to Yangzhou. The total volume of investment in the first two months of this year surpassed 100 million dollars, an increase of 30% over the same period last year.
