PLA Macao Garrison Makes Donation to “Project Hope”

The PLA garrison troop in Macao has decided to celebrate their first anniversary of entering the region by donating 700,000 yuan, saved from their salary and pension, to the “Project Hope” to set up a primary school in Nasui Village, Aidong Township, Donglan County, Guangzi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

A batch of modern teaching equipment, mainly computers worth about 300,000 yuan, will be donated amongst others to ensure successful founding and smooth operation of the school to be inaugurated.

The would-be Nasui primary school is to be of the largest set up in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, an economically backward region with a long history of revolution. The new school will provide beautiful classrooms for over 300 children of Zhuang nationality, putting to an end to the history of their having on straw hats to have class and lying on the ground to do homework.
