Yunnan to Build Peacock Breeding Center

Longling County in western Yunnan Province in southwest China has joined hands with northeast China’s Liaoning Province in building Yunnan’s largest peacock and peahen breeding center.

The Ludan Company, which cooperates with Longling County, is an ecological developing company with a high financial strength and rich expertise. It has invested in Longling County a total of 22.13 million yuan (US$2.6 million) to be used to turn the 7.3-hectare Xisanpo Park into a peacock and peahen breeding center.

To date, the infrastructure in Xishanpo Park has been completed. The first 800 peacocks and peahens have arrived in the park. It is estimated that another 10,000 peacocks and peahens will be on display by the end of this year.
