Chinglish Gets Popular
Adjust font size:

While 300 million Chinese give their all to learning authentic English, even to the point of studying abroad, all the while laughing at Chinglish, did you ever think the unique mix of Chinese and English could become popular? Well it has.

A new website called Chinglish.com is boasting itself as the first in the world to give a clear translation of typical Chinglish. Launched by a company from Holland on October 31, it also offers a translation service between Chinese and English emails.

And all you have to do is become a registered member to start having your writing translated from Chinese to English, and vice versa.

A statement from the company's CEO says that Chinese and English are two important languages, so the mission of Chinglish.com is to establish an invisible community for both of them to coexist and supplement each other, as well as enhance cultural and language exchange between Chinese and English speaking countries. The website is very convenient for business people, students and tourists.

Many Chinglish words like "guanxi," "kungfu," and "taikongren" are widely used and accepted by western countries now.
