Heavy Snow Expected in NE and NW China
Adjust font size:

Heavy snow is expected in parts of northeast and northwest China in the next four days, the Chinese Central Meteorological Station forecast on Friday.

The station said heavy snow would hit central and eastern Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and parts of the provinces of Qinghai, Shaanxi, Shanxi, Liaoning, Jilin and Heilongjiang between Friday and Monday.

Meanwhile, sleet and snow are expected in the north and east of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, eastern and northwestern parts of the Qinghai-Tibet plateau, as well much of north China and southern and eastern parts of northeast China.

Meteorologists said the snow would help ease the drought in northern China, but warned the heavy snow could cause problems for road traffic and other transportation.
