A large pet theme park is being planned in Zhengzhou, capital of Henan Province.

Covering an area of 951 mu (63.4 hectares), the Dahe Pet Cultural Park is expected be completed in the first quarter of 2008 and will include beauty salons, pet inns, medical inspection and training facilities for different kinds of animals.

The theme park will also include a pet trading market, a carp pool and a stage for animal performances.

Construction of the theme park will cost more than 600 million yuan (US$40 million). It is expected to become a new tourist attraction in the central metropolis.
