Chinese, Algerian FMs Hold Talks

Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing held talks in Beijing on Tuesday with visiting Algerian Minister of State of Foreign Affairs Mohamed Bedjaoui.

 

Li said China and Algeria have deep traditional friendship and the two countries have for long supported each other and treated each other with sincerity.

 

Li said bilateral cooperation has continuously deepened and achieved outstanding results. "China hopes to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in fields of politics, economy and trade, science and technology and energy," Li said.

 

He said China also hopes to enhance consultation and coordination in major international and regional issues between the two sides and promote the over-all development of the strategic cooperation between China and Algeria.

 

Bedjaoui said Algeria treasures the friendly ties with China and the Algerian government hopes to conduct comprehensive and deep cooperation with China in various fields, adding that there is a great potential of bilateral cooperation.

 

The two sides also exchanges views on the international and regional issues of common concern.

 

Bedjaoui arrived in Beijing on Monday as guest of Li. On Tuesday, he also met with Premier Wen Jiabao and State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan.
