Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing met on Tuesday with Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister Andriy Veselovsky.

 

Li said the China-Ukraine relations have developed smoothly over the past 14 years and their cooperation has produced fruitful results.

 

He said the Chinese government attaches great importance to its relations with Ukraine and hopes to deepen political trust with Ukraine and improve bilateral and international cooperation to further promote China-Ukraine friendly relations.

 

Veselovsky said that to improve and develop Ukraine-China friendly cooperative ties is in the basic interests of the two countries and two peoples.

 

He said the Ukrainian government firmly abides by the one-China policy and supports the Chinese government's efforts of maintaining national sovereignty and territory integrity.

 

The two also exchanged views on international and regional issues of common concern.
