FM Meets Ukrainian Guest

Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing met in Beijing Thursday with Petro Poroshenko,  secretary of Ukraine's Counsel of National Security and Defense.

 

Li said China-Ukraine relations have developed smoothly, and the two countries have supported each other on issues concerning state sovereignty and territorial integrity since they forged diplomatic ties.

 

The political trust between the two countries has been expanded, and the economic and trade, scientific cooperation has been furthered, he added.

 

Li noted China appreciates the adherence of Ukraine to the one-China policy, and thanked for its support to China on the Taiwan, Tibet, and human rights issues.

 

"China is ready to further cooperation with Ukraine in all fields, and push forward the bilateral relations," he said.

 

Poroshenko said developing relations with China is the top priority of Ukraine's foreign policy, and the two countries have maintained sound cooperation in political, economic and trade fields.

 

He said Ukraine will observe its commitment in the bilateral documents and continue its adherence of the one-China policy.
