E. China Province Attractive to Investors
With optimized investment environment, the inland province of Jiangxi, east China, has attracted the attention of business people from home and abroad.

The latest statistics show that in the first three quarters of this year, the province registered contractual overseas investments of 283 million US dollars and a used amount of 2.46 million US dollars, representing rises of 81 percent and 93 percent from last year's same period, respectively.

Foreign investors include renowned multinational corporations which have already invested in other parts of China, such as Microsoft and Mitsubishi.

At the same time, Jiangxi has enhanced its efforts to cooperate with other provinces of China.

In the first 10 months, Jiangxi with Shanghai, Guangdong, Liaoning and other provinces and cities cooperated in 2,555 economic programs.

The province attracted 28.89 billion yuan (US$3.48 billion) in contractual volume from other provinces and used 10.1 billion yuan (US$1.21 billion) in the 10-month period, according to statistics.

Shanghai, a leading industrial and commercial city of China, has conducted cooperation with Jiangxi in the industrial, agricultural, scientific, technological and tourism fields.

Statistics show that the province's gross domestic product roseby 8.5 percent in the first three quarters this year compared with the previous corresponding period.
