China Undertakes Construction of a Malaysian Power Plant
According to reports, the contract is valued at US$100 million with construction period set for 38 months. In 1994, the CMEC undertook construction of the said project, which marked the first entry of Chinese thermal power equipment into the Malaysian market. Thanks to the unremitting efforts made by the CMEC in overcoming all sorts of difficulties, the project was completed in 1998. After one-year trial run, the station fully met the designed technology standard and won the high praises from Malaysia, thus laying a good foundation for the company to further undertake the second-phase construction.

So far, the CMEC has exported 20 sets of thermal power units, 226 hydroelectric generating sets to Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand and other countries. Since the beginning of this year, the company's total business volume has topped US$1.639 billion and some US$1.055 billion is effective.
