Anhui to Unveil 200 Projects for Investment in May
Central China's Anhui Province would offer more than US$1 billion in projects for overseas investment during its investment promotion event in Hong Kong between May 14 to 17.

The 200 projects would cover sectors such as infrastructure, agriculture, textiles, pharmaceuticals, machinery, information technology, tourism and real estate, said Lu Jiafeng, vice-governor of the province.

Hong Kong has been the mainland's largest overseas investor and trading partner, Lu said.

At the end of last year, foreign investment in the province amounted to US$7.04 billion including US$4.8 billion in foreign direct investment.

The province hopes to attract US$4.5 billion foreign investment, including US$2.8 billion direct in the five years to 2005, Lu said.
