Taiwan Will Partly Open to Mainland Investment
Taiwan legislative authorities on March 27 passed amendments on the regulations for permitting mainland investment in the island province, China News Service reported on March 26.

Zhang Yuanxu, a senior official said the local authorities will adopt a license system to the mainland investors and the appraisal process would come out within a month.

Chen Mingtong, a senior official in charge of mainland issues, said the authorities would grant the size of the land to be invested by mainland investors according to their purpose. As mainland investment is regarded as foreign investment, forests, fishing waters, hunting grounds, salt fields, mines, water resource sites and military areas will be excluded from mainland investors or rental.
