The sub-council has also set up a website -- www.ieip.gov.cn to offer updated information on the exhibition.

More than 15,000 visitors are expected to attend the exhibition including several delegates from abroad.

Visitors will also be able to participate seminars on advanced electronics and information technologies offered visitors, company executives and experts the chance to exchange ideas.

During last year's exhibition, 430 companies from both home and abroad, including Sony, Sanyo and China Telecom, displayed products on more than 500 stands.

Local demand for electronic and information products was so strong at last year's event that many exhibited products were immediately bought by local purchasers.

China's electronics and information industry is experiencing a rapid growth.

Last year, the export and import volume of electronics and information products reached US$124 billion, taking account of 24.3 percent of the country's total export and import in international trade.
