Shanghai Expects Further Exchanges with Taipei

Shanghai municipality expects to push forward its exchanges with Taipei, Xu Kuangdi, mayor of Shanghai said Sunday.

In a meeting with Taipei deputy mayor Bai Xiuxiong and his delegation, Xu said that he hopes the two cities will complement each other for common development so as to contribute to the early realization of the reunification of the motherland.

Xu also briefed the guests on the blueprint of Shanghai in the new century.

The delegation are here to attend the "Shanghai--Taipei City Forum".
