Empty Train Catches Fire in Eastern Pakistani City

Two carriages of an empty train parked at the railway station in eastern Pakistani city Lahore caught fire Tuesday, causing no life loss, according to the state- run Associated Press of Pakistan.

 

The fire erupted suddenly at about 11:05 a.m. (GMT 0605), with thick black smoke emitting and curling into the sky, and one of the carriage was burnt down completely while the other was partially damaged, said the APP report, quoting rescue sources.

 

The flames was brought under control at 12:50 by firefighters after hour-long rescue work.

 

No loss of life was reported in the incident, while the cause of the blaze could not as yet be ascertained, said the report.
