After three years of intensive preparation, the TV production of the great modern Chinese author Ba Jin's novel Family is finally underway. 　　

At a press conference in Beijing today, the production team said filming will officially start on the 4th of January in Sichuan's Jiang-an district. 　　

Bajin's novel is set in a big traditional family in the 1920s, but director Wang Jun's new interpretation will use more contemporary forms of emotional expression. He hopes this will make the six young protagonists' tragedy more vivid. 　　

Chinese actors Huang Lei, Lu Yi, Li Xiaoran will play the lead roles.
