Veteran Shanghai actor Wang Zhiwen married former supermodel-turned Lamborghini distributor Chen Jianhong on Tuesday.
The wedding was held at Hotel Inter-Continental Pudong in eastern Shanghai Tuesday afternoon with an estimated budget of 140,000 yuan (US$20,000).
Wang, a star featured in numerous stage dramas, TV series and films, has been regarded as one of "the most attractive bachelors in China."
Chen was a waitress at a local five-star hotel before becoming a well-known supermodel. After her younger sister married a senior executive of a Lamborghini (China) distributor, Chen became the managing director of the eastern China distributor of the luxury sports car.
Chen's Lamborghini store is next to Shanghai Theatre Academy where Wang studied and is now teaching.
Chen, whose annual income was reportedly more than 50 million yuan, has also made investments in the hotel industry and real estate.
Wang, 42, is one of the most respected actors in China. His portrayals of an honorable mayor in the TV series "State Cadre" (2006), and as a businessman/drug dealer in "Black Ice" (2001), were highly regarded among the audience.
Wang's latest role was as Liang Wang in "A Battle of Wits" (2006) -- a US$15 million production set in China's Warring States Period (476-221BC) -- also starring Andy Lau and Ahn Sung-ki.
