4. Franz Josef Glacier, New Zealand

Franz Josef Glacier is widely considered as the precious pearl on the western coast of New Zealand. It lies in the temperate rainforest. The altitude ranges from 3,505 to 241 meters. The melt water from glacier inflows into Waihou River. But since 2000, this glacier started to shrunk. Some glaciologists expect it will disappear entirely in the next century.
