Chinese state councilor meets Al Gore on climate change

Chinese State Councilor Liu Yandong met here Wednesday with former U.S. vice president Al Gore.
The Chinese government attaches great importance to climate change and takes resource-conservation and environmental protection as basic national policy, Liu said.
She pledged China will take practical measures based on science, technology and innovation to cope with related issues.
Gore is in China for a training program on climate change sponsored by the Chinese Ministry of Science.
