6.1-M quake hits offshore Libertador O'Higgins, Chile

An earthquake measuring 6.1 on the Richter scale jolted offshore Libertador O'Higgins, Chile at 21:36:22 GMT on Wednesday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 15.60 km, was initially determined to be at 34.0024 degrees south latitude and 71.9568 degrees west longitude.
