The panda cub born at the Smithsonian's National Zoo is growing like a weed! He's now 1.3 pounds, a weight gain of 58 grams overnight.
In addition to packing on the grams, he is also starting to look like a little panda, with his black markings coming in and first wisps of white fur growing in. But his eyes are not open yet.
At his last two veterinary checkups the cub appeared to be very healthy and had a full belly each time.
Giant panda Mei Xiang gave birth to a pair of cubs last month, but the smaller of the twins died days after it was born.
