Under the new rule, smoking is also prohibited in indoor working environments where three or more people work together, and in all hotels, restaurants and department stores except for their smoking rooms.

Violators will be subject to a fine of up to 10,000 New Taiwan dollars (US$300)

Meanwhile, no-smoking signs must be publicly posted and ashtrays not be provided at such places, where tobacco advertisements are not allowed either or a fine between 10,000-30,000 New Taiwan dollars will be imposed.
